I can honestly say this was a first for me... custom designed lip balm labels.

Requirements were to have contact and business info and also to have them labeled in such a way that you could easily tell which 'flavor' was which. The name of the company is "My Vintage Baby" so every thing that I've done for them so far has a bit of a vintage feel. Why should the lip balms be any different? I'm please with how these turned out. Can't wait to post a picture of the finished product.

Just a few of the many exciting announcements to come:

Due to their overwhelming success in the holiday season, Twist Cards are now a permanent part of the Envelopments collection. They are now available in all of the Card Stock colors in 5x5, 5x7L, and 5x7P.

We have spoken with many of you over the past few years looking for yellow in the Envelopments line. Well, you spoke and they listened and added two yellows to the line.

		“Soleil” is a bright yellow that goes great with the patterned stocks and like its namesake (the sun) Soleil is filled with light and warmth, it conjures up images of sunflowers, beach balls, tropical locations and summer celebrations.

		“Limoncello” looks just like the Italian liqueur it is named for, it calls to mind wild spring flowers, daffodils, margaritas and coordinates very nicely in the palette with Napa, Wicked and Mystic to name a few.

Our new swatches and samples are here and they are fantastic! My delivery of everything pictured (left) arrived this afternoon and I couldn't wait to dig into it!

There are some gorgeous new patterns and great new colors in the patterns that we already love. The favor containers are super fun and I can't wait to work on my first project that uses pocket cards and pocket envelopes!

This year, there’s so much more to work with in the Envelopments line! There are new patterned stocks and new shapes like Pocket Envelopes and Pocket Cards enclosures to create more design opportunities. I started researching options for this product for one of my current clients and found an awesome printable cotton fabric. They are completely customizable, can be printed in full color and cut to any size! They are also colorfast and machine washable.

Kathleen's Kloset

This is one of the many things I have been working on in the past few weeks - branding for my friend Kathy's new business "Kathleen's Kloset"

She makes the gorgeous handbags and totes that you see in the shop windows in this design. There are tons of great fabric colors and patterns to choose from and you can dress up your bag with an optional clip on flower if you like.

I have one of her bags and I love it! I've even put it to the test taking it with me on a family trip to Disney World and it was awesome! If you need a new purse or are looking for a unique gift for someone you should check it out! She's brand new to a lot of this so her website is still a work-in-progress. She does have a ton of pictures of fabric options and completed bags on her Facebook page though. Happy shopping!

Envelopments is about to launch over 110 new colors and patterns! As this short transition period begins, they will be starting the process of moving from their current line to their new stocks. Some stocks have been discontinued by the mills and are no longer available. In other cases they have chosen to replace existing stocks with new ones that are better quality and/or heavier weight, richer and more vibrant colors, and/or more printer-friendly, as well as some environmental options.

winter wonderland wedding

Deep burgundy and gold worked beautifully here to set the tone for Lisa and Tim's winter wonderland wedding. They got married on one of the snowiest days this winter and held the reception at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.

We used a 5x7 envelofold tied with ribbon for the invitations and printed coordinating programs and thank you notes complete with some of the gorgeous pictures (thanks to Clever Creations Photography) from their snowy day.

I got to work on some beautiful items for Jessi & Andy's fall wedding and I need to thank Alexis at Studio Xplore for the beautiful pictures she took to show off my work.

The first one is a sign for a unique twist on the traditional box/birdcage for cards.

This is of a favor tag with a little thank you message tucked inside.

We also did invitations, programs and table numbers for this wedding. I love fall!

In the spirit of the season and of thanksgiving, I thought this picture seemed appropriate to enter into the greeblepix contest this month.

Every once in a while I catch a moment like this between them. The rest of the time they are laughing, crying, dancing, running, and pretty much everything but sitting still long enough for a picture.

I recently finished up work on a wedding for Jen & Ryan. their colors where 'punchy' pink, orange, and yellow and it was so much fun to work with them on all their wedding stationery needs.

They used Dusty Brown as their photographer and he did a huge favor for me and took pictures of my work in use at the wedding and the reception. I'm looking forward to featuring his images on my website! For now, here's the link to the blog post.

AMB Paperworks now has it's own Envelopments website! Follow this link to check it out. This is my main paper supplier. They have great quality products, they can do all kinds of customizations (cutting, drilling, scoring, etc...), and some beautiful color and pattern options.

AMB also has websites with Carlson Craft and Birchcraft. These vendors sell all kinds of semi-customizable invitations, cards, stationery, and imprintable accessory items.

So I took a class called 'Photography Boot Camp' this past weekend to learn about my camera and how to take better pictures. We got to practice a little on some kids in the studio and outside. I got a few good pictures (out of almot 100 of them). Here are a couple of 'practice' shots that I took. What do you think? I certainly won't be quitting my day job any time soon, but I guess they could be a lot worse.

I was recently turned on to a website called mamasource. It's the coolest thing for connecting with other moms in your local community, getting answers to those nagging mom questions, AND you can promote your mom-owned-businesses for FREE! So, I of course wasted no time in putting AMB Paperworks on their site. Some of my loyal customers have even posted reviews for me. I love this site and have already been busy posting. Check it out!

Don't worry - "couture" doesn't translate to "expensive". I like this definition better : "The business of designing, making, and selling highly fashionable, usually custom-made clothing for women." Ok, so I'm not exactly making clothing for women, but I am "dressing" the scene for whatever event you are planning, and the rest of the definition fits so I'm going with it!

This isn't the kind of invitation that I usually do (you don't see too many frog themed weddings), but I had a great time coming up with it. It's a frog invitation for my daughters end of the year preschool program. Her teacher asked me to come up with something fun for the the preschoolers to help make, and for Holly to hand deliver to the school board at their next meeting.

This gorgeous invitation was used to invite people to an office brunch. Its versatile style could be used for a wedding or baby shower, a retirement party, graduation announcement - it's so flexible!

This sample used the following envelopments papers:
gate fold card in navaho, cardstocks in white micha kitsch, black linen, and white micha, a black satin ribbon tie closure, and a white micha envelope.

Winter Wedding Goes Hawaiian

Here's a wedding invitation ensemble I just worked on for a wedding coming up in February. She wanted something red and white and fun, but not a Valentine's theme. She decided to have a 'luau reception' complete with people changing into Hawaiian shirts before coming to the reception, so decided to design invitations that played on that idea. I used a single red hibiscus flower to make the invitations classy yet coordinated, and pulled that thru the rest of the items.

Here is a sampling of the Christmas Cards (and a Christmas party invitation) I have done this year. It's so much fun to design a card around the style of a picture, and I love it that people get to mail a little bit of holiday cheer to their friends and family because of something that I made. That's just one of the may joy's of Christmas for me.

This is a first for me - a corporate customer of mine asked me to design a label for the bottles of wine that were having made at the Cascade Winery. They are going to be giving them as Christmas gifts for some of their clients. Not only is a customized bottle of wine a great Christmas gift, but they are great for party favors, or to have at each table during a wedding reception.
